BACK  PAIN

Sciatica

STIFF, LOCKED OR PAINFUL LOWER BACK

Back pain can range from a dull ache and stiffness through to sharp pain, muscle spasm and sciatica extending into the buttock or leg.

Long hours sitting, lifting, sport, poor posture and stress commonly contribute to tight and overloaded muscles around the lower back and hips.

Correct diagnosis is the key to resolving most lower back conditions.

Tight muscles surrounding the lumbar spine and pelvis can place excessive pressure on the joints, discs and nerves. Releasing these muscles through targeted dry needling and massage can help restore movement and reduce pain.

SCIATICA AND NERVE PAIN

Sciatica commonly occurs when irritation develops around the sciatic nerve or lumbar nerve roots.

Symptoms may include:

  • Pain travelling into the buttock or leg

  • Burning or tingling sensations

  • Tight hamstrings or calf muscles

  • Numbness or weakness in the leg

  • Pain when sitting or standing for long periods

Releasing deep spinal, gluteal and hip muscles can help reduce pressure around irritated nerves and improve mobility.

Electro dry needling may also be used to assist stubborn or chronic cases.

BACK LOCKING UP OR TROUBLE STANDING STRAIGHT

A common but often overlooked cause of lower back pain is tight hip flexor muscles, particularly the psoas muscle.

Signs this may be contributing include:

  • Pain getting up from sitting

  • Feeling bent forward or locked up

  • Tightness across the lower back

  • Pain when first standing or walking

  • Difficulty fully straightening up

Treating only the lower back muscles often gives temporary relief if the hip flexors are the real driver of the problem.

Targeted needling, trigger point release and stretching of the hip flexors can help restore normal movement and reduce ongoing strain on the lumbar spine.

LIVE PAIN FREE

Trigger points are tight bundles of dysfunctional muscle fibres which can refer pain into the lower back, hips and legs.

By releasing the trigger point, the muscle relaxes. When the muscle relaxes, tension decreases and movement improves.

Don’t put up with back pain any longer.

Book now and start moving freely again.
